Apps are a brilliant help for busy parents whether you use them for organising, educating or entertaining. I love the Kid Art app for iPad and iPhone. At first it felt a little odd to hand the iPhone to my son but, honestly, have you ever tried to fit a drawing pad, crayons and stickers into your baby changing bag? I don’t know about your diaper bag but, even though mine is perfect for all my essentials, it doesn’t include a section for carrying art supplies.
The app has a few different themes including outdoor and under the sea. Since my son is obsessed with the Octonauts you can guess which theme is his favourite. He can spend ages quietly drawing fish and submarines. Then there is the sticker function which he loves!
Of course, for parents, the added bonus of this app is that it is developing colour recognition and fine motor skills. Plus if you particularly love one of your little one’s creations, you can save it. One click and you have a perfect copy preserved forever and you can easily send it round all your family and friends. And, did I mention it costs less than £1?
The Kid Art app means your child has fun, develops skills and you rescue your changing bag from crayon smears and scraps of paper. In fact, it means you can even use a designer baby changing bag like Yippydada’s Sunrise Baby Changing Bag, safe in the knowledge that it will only ever carry virtual paints.
